The Y is About Relationships
I was recently up at Camp Manitou talking to some kids who obviously were friends. The interesting thing about it was that they didn't even know each other before coming to camp. I started thinking about it and it struck me that, it's not only at Camp where it happens. Some of the friends my kids have today started by playing sports at the Y in grade school. Whether they are teammates, friendly opponents or just acquaintances, a lot of their teenage relationships started at the Y. Relationships-that's really what the Y is about. Whether it is playing sports, taking swimming lessons or coming to Day Camp. Friendships that last a lifetime start at the Y. You never know where you'll meet that best friend for life. And by the way, it's not only for kids...Activities are available for adults and older adults. So start building those new relationships now. It's what we are all about.
